Delwar Hossain Sayeedi
Delwar Hossain Sayeedi, a Muslim leader of Bangladesh, was born on 2 February 1940. He was born in Indurkani village of Pirojpur district. He belonged to Indurkani Upazila Pirojpur-1 Constituency till the 9th Parliament Election. Indurkani was added to the Pirojpur-2 constituency due to the delimitation of the parliamentary seat before the 2014 parliamentary elections.
Death of Delwar Hossain Sayeedi
According to prison authority sources, Delwar Hossain Sayeedi was imprisoned in Kashimpur Central Jail Part-1 of Gazipur for a long time after receiving the life sentence for crimes against humanity in 1971. While there, he suddenly fell ill on Sunday (13 August) around five o’clock in the afternoon. At that time, the Jamaat leader was feeling pain in his chest. After that he was taken by ambulance from Kashimpur Jail to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in Gazipur. He was later referred to BSSMU for advanced treatment.

He died of a heart attack on Monday (14 August) night at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSSMU) in the capital.

Salat aljinaza (Funeral) of Allama Delwar Hossain Sayeedi will be held at Pirojpur Saidi Foundation ground on Tuesday 15th August 2023 at 2:00 PM. Jamaat-e-Islami leader Naib Amir and former MP Delwar Hossain Sayeedi were scheduled to perform Janaza prayers at Baitul Mokarram Bangladesh National Mosque on August 15, 2023, but the Bangladesh Police did not allow them there.

His tomb has been excavated next to Baitul Hamad Jame Masjid of Allama Sayedi Foundation in Pirojpur.
His brief introduction:
Allama Delwar Hossain Sayeedi completed his primary education in the madrasa established by his father. Later he spent some time in Khulna Aliya Madrasa and then in 1962 Kamil passed from Charchina Aliya Madrasa. After passing, Kamil studied for 5 years on different languages, religion, science, politics, economics, foreign policy, psychology and various theories.

A. Mahfil was held every year for 5 days for 29 years in Chittagong Parade Ground. The Honorable Imam of the Holy Kaaba Sharif was present as the Chief Guest twice in this Mahfil.
b. Tafseer Mahfil was held every year for 2 days in various grounds of the city including Khulna Circuit House Maidan for 38 years.
c. Tafseer Mahfil is held every year for 3 days for 33 years in Sylhet Government Aliya Madrasah grounds.
d. Tafseer Mahfil is held every year for 3 days in Rajshahi government madrasa ground for 35 years.
e. Tafseer Mahfil is held every year for 25 years in Bogra city.
f. Tafseer Mahfil is held every year for 3 days in Dhaka Kamalapur Railway Maidan and Paltan Maidan for 34 years.
G. For almost 31 years, Tafseer Mahfil has been held for three days in Comilla Central Eidgah Maidan.
