Kolkata took to the street for palestine

Thousands of people of Kolkata took to the streets for Palestine.

The conflict between Israel and Hamas has intensified. According to the Hamas-run Health Ministry, more than 8,500 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks so far. Israel has now sent troops and tanks to the area.

There have been protests in various parts of the world against this attack by Israel. Protests were also held in India’s Calcutta demanding an end to Israeli attacks and ‘genocide’. 

A procession was held from Sealdah station premises to Rajabazar on the call of All India Peace and Solidarity Organization (AIPSO). Students, youth, women, teachers, cultural workers, workers and people from different sections of the society joined the procession. 

CPM student body, SUC, APDR and some other organizations marched in many other places of the city demanding an end to the war and showing solidarity for Palestine. 

All the marches raised voices against Israel’s role and America’s support behind them.   

According to the Hamas-run Health Ministry, more than 8,500 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks so far.

At this time, the speakers said that Narendra Modi’s government should be forced to withdraw from the side of Israel. A huge public opinion has to be built for that. Speakers also raised questions as to why the Trinamool Congress government of the state did not utter a single word against Israel or in support of Palestine.
